Our small-group workshops are designed to make metalsmithing approachable, creative, and fun, whether you’re trying jewelry making for the first time or bringing a young maker in for a special holiday experience. Class sizes are intentionally limited for personal instruction, so early registration is encouraged.

A hands-on introduction to bronze metal clay. Students will learn the basics of working with bronze clay, explore design possibilities, and create finished bronze jewelry pieces.

- How to condition, roll, texture, shape, and refine bronze clay
- How to create one-of-a-kind jewelry components
- Basic finishing techniques before firing
- How the firing process transforms metal clay into solid bronze

The workshop

A four-hour beginner-friendly introduction to traditional metalsmithing. Students will learn core bench skills and create a small wearable metal project to take home.
Students will learn
- How to use a jeweler's saw and install saw blades
- How to pierce designs from sheet metal
- How to use files to refine and finish edges
- The fundamentals of basic soldering

- A finished small metal project to take home
Optional take-home kit: Includes a jeweler's saw and several blades, so you can keep practicing at home. The kit is purchased separately from the class.
